Northwest Public-Works Bid Digest: Week of November 2, 2026
A quiet week for Northwest electrical and utility contractors: nothing new opened and nothing changed since last Monday. Three Washington solicitations carry over unchanged — Mason County PUD No. 3's substation transformer (closing Wednesday), the Lilliwaup Bay relocation, and Cowlitz's power transformer buy. Every open bid is on the board.
This is our weekly new-and-changed update for Northwest electrical and utility contractors, and this week is a quiet one: nothing new opened and nothing changed on the bids we already track. Three Washington solicitations carry over unchanged — two power-transformer buys and the Lilliwaup Bay relocation — and every open bid we follow lives on the board at deadfront.ai/bids/open. This post just covers what moved since last Monday.
New this week
No new solicitations this week. We ran the usual sweep — WA, OR, ID, and MT, across PUDs, electric co-ops, municipal utilities, cities, ports, and counties, plus the state portals and plan centers — and nothing matching line, substation, underground, or other install work had a live future due date we could verify on an owner's own page. A handful of jobs we'd been watching closed out over the past two weeks (the Cowlitz conductor and switchgear buys, Mason PUD 1's Eldon-to-Duckabush rebuild, and Clallam's Calawah transformer), and several districts are only taking contractor-roster and prequalification applications right now, not posting bids. We'd rather show you three verified openings than pad the list, so that's what's below.
Changed
No changes to open bids this week — same due dates, same scopes, no addenda, no cancellations.
Still open
| Project | Agency | Due |
|---|---|---|
| Substation Power Transformer (M2-2026) | Mason County PUD No. 3 (WA) | Nov 4, 2026, 3:00 PM PT |
| Lilliwaup Bay Utility Relocation (RFP) | Mason County PUD No. 1 (WA) | Nov 17, 2026, 12:00 PM PT |
| Power Transformer Supply (UC1859) | Cowlitz County PUD No. 1 (WA) | Dec 1, 2026, 2:00 PM PT |
The Mason PUD 3 transformer closes first — this Wednesday — so if you're quoting that one, confirm the current spec and delivery date on the district's bid page; it's an MRSC Rosters job, so you need to be registered with PUD 3 selected to bid. Both transformer packages (Mason PUD 3 and Cowlitz UC1859, due Dec 1) are supply contracts where the technical spec, delivery lead time, and any capitalized-loss evaluation drive your number more than crew rates, and Cowlitz has said it may split the award. Lilliwaup Bay is the one field job in the mix — a bore-heavy underground relocation with a $750K engineer's estimate, 5% bid security, prevailing wage, and a payment-and-performance bond — but its mandatory pre-bid was October 27, so it's closed to any shop that didn't make that walk-through. Dates were verified against each owner's own page the day we published; addenda move targets, so confirm the current due date and any pre-bid requirement on the source page before you build your bid.
