Northwest Public-Works Bid Digest: Week of October 12, 2026
This week's new-and-changed update for Northwest electrical and utility contractors: no new solicitations cleared verification against an owner's own page, and Mason County PUD No. 1's Eldon-to-Duckabush overhead rebuild picked up Addendum 1. Five carryover bids stay open, from Northern Wasco's Columbia Heights substation to Cowlitz PUD's December transformer buy. Every open bid is on the board.
This is our weekly new-and-changed update for Northwest electrical and utility contractors. The short version this week: nothing new cleared verification against an owner's own page, but Mason County PUD No. 1's Eldon-to-Duckabush overhead rebuild picked up its first addendum, and five bids carry over still open. Every open bid we track lives on the board at deadfront.ai/bids/open — this post just covers what moved since last Monday.
New this week
No new solicitations this week. We ran the usual WA, OR, ID, and MT portals and agency pages — PUDs, electric co-ops, municipal utilities, cities, ports, and counties — looking for install work a contractor builds as prime: distribution and transmission line, reconductor and pole replacement, underground conduit and cable, substation construction, street lighting and signals, plant electrical, and solar or BESS install. Nothing new had a live future due date we could confirm on the owner's own site. Benton PUD's procurement page shows no open bids, the Snohomish leads we chased were either closed or material-only, and the Beartooth Electric substation ITB that still shows online closed back in 2023. We'd rather hand you five verified lines than pad the list with things we can't stand behind.
Changed
- Eldon to Duckabush Overhead Rebuild — Mason County PUD No. 1: Addendum 1 posted October 9, and the pre-bid walk-through roster went up the same day. The mandatory pre-bid job show on October 6 is now past — if nobody from your shop attended, you can't bid this one. The due date holds at October 30, 2026, 10:00 AM PT. Pull Addendum 1 before you finish pricing, since it's the first revision to a seven-appendix package. Source
No other open bid changed this week — same due dates, same scopes, no cancellations.

Columbia Heights closes tomorrow, so that's the one with the clock on it — the rest give you from a week to seven weeks. Of the five, Columbia Heights and Eldon-to-Duckabush are the field jobs where labor, coordination, and the owner-furnished-equipment split drive the number; the three transformer and switchgear packages are supply contracts where the technical spec, the delivery date, and any capitalized-loss evaluation matter more than crew rates. Dates above were verified against each owner's own solicitation page the day we published, but addenda move targets — confirm the current due date and any pre-bid requirement on the source page before you build your bid.
